Erebus Motorsport Academy driver Bailey Sweeny has claimed his maiden Australian titles race race win at Round Two of the 2020 SP Tools Australian Kart Championship presented by Castrol EDGE in Newcastle.
17 year old Sweeny, from Batemans Bay in NSW, broke through for his first national race win in the KA3 Senior Class, taking victory in Heat 1.
Success bred success with Sweeny immediately following that up with another victory - his second in the Australian titles - with a solid win in Heat 2.
In the remaining two races Sweeny again shone, claiming second place in both races, finishing either first or second in all 4 races.
A remarkable achievement.
With a strong haul of 51 points now taken by Sweeny from Newcastle, he sits 7th overall in the Australian Karting Championships out of 67 competitors, despite missing the first round.
