SWEENY CLAIMS THIRD PLACE OVERALL AFTER STELLAR BREAK OUT TCR SEASON

HMO Customer Racing Hyundai TCR driver Bailey Sweeny has taken out the third place overall in the 2023 Supercheap Auto TCR Australia Championships, after a stellar break-out year.

20 year old Sweeny from Batemans Bay led the drivers championship going into the final round but a mechanical issue saw him miss results on the penultimate race of the year, dropping him behind stablemate Josh Buchan and highly experienced Supercars driver Tony D’Alberto.

In the final race of the season - held at Australia’s most famous circuit, Mount Panorama, Bathurst and amongst the world’s best drivers as part of the Kumho TCR World Tour - Sweeny stormed home to give himself a total of 748 points for the year.

Eventually, he would narrowly miss the title but can hold his head up high after a stunning year.

The season included multiple race wins, pole positions and podiums and established Sweeny as a serious driver to watch in 2024.
