SUNSHINE STATE - SWEENY HITS THE TRACK FOR DAY 1 AT IPSWICH

HMO Customer Racing Hyundai TCR Australia driver Bailey Sweeny has hit the track for practice on Day 1 of Round 4 of the 2022 Supercheap Auto TCR Australia series at Queensland Raceway.

Sweeny came out of the blocks well, clocking the circuit in a best time of 1:14.3804 to sit 6th overall in the 18 car field and less than a second off pole sitter and V8 Supercar driver Will Brown.

MPC Team LIQUI MOLY Audi driver Will Brown has topped the timesheets in his Audi RS3 LMS TCR at his home event as Supercheap Auto TCR Australia returned to the track at Queensland Raceway following its mid-season break.

Brown recorded a 1m 13.767s lap to edge out series leader Tony D’Alberto in the Wall racing Honda Australia Civic Type R TCR by 0.013s as the top 11 entries were covered by less than a second.

Supercheap Auto TCR Australia again hits the track at 5:50pm AEST.

The SpeedSeries at Queensland Raceway will feature seven racing categories and 12 hours of live and ad-break free coverage on Stan Sport across Saturday and Sunday.

The coverage will be broadcast on Stan Sport between 11am-5pm on both Saturday and Sunday.
