In 2020 Bailey was selected by the Repco Australia Supercars race winning team Erebus Motorsport as a driver in their Erebus Motorsport Driving Academy.

The Erebus Academy aims to build careers in motorsport.

From driver development, engineering, mechanics, to team management and more.

The Erebus Academy strives to assist those in grass roots movements, grow into world class motorsport professionals.

A leader in the ultra-competitive Supercars arena, the team has created a mission for their future, providing young drivers with the support required to make it to the highest level of motorsport.

The Creating Pathways program is focused on identifying, mentoring and coaching young racing driver talent.

By utilising a number of categories as drivers progress through different levels of development, the platform will provide a pathway from karting to the top tier of Australian motorsport.

“It can be very challenging and frustrating for young drivers, and more so their parents and support network, to know what the best pathway is into professional motorsport. We want to look to fill this void and create a more structured pathway for the drivers of the future”
Barry Ryan, Erebus Motorsport CEO

The specialist program provides tailored mentoring, marketing and management support to young racing drivers with the assistance of the Erebus Academy and its program partners. Their wide-ranging expertise and experience across the business of motorsport are perfectly placed to encourage and assist a young racing driver in maximising their on and off-track potential.

A strategic partnership formed with Paul Morris and one of Australia’s leading driver training facilities, Norwell Motorplex helps to develop racing driver’s talent and creates an opportunity to hone their skills on track.

Assessment by professional instructors and mentors also provides a standard of training and assistance that is not readily available to young drivers in Australia.

Erebus Motorsport came into existence in 2011 with ambitions for world domination. By world domination, we mean Team Owner Betty Klimenko set her sights on succeeding in the fast world of motorsport.

With a number of accomplishments in GT’s under her belt, both on home soil and internationally, there were no plans in stopping there. 2013 saw Betty take over a Supercars team and rebrand it as her own.

Fast forward to 2015 and a few triumphs later, Penrite Oil were looking for their path into Supercars, and there was no better fit. The lubricant’s company joined the team at Bathurst that year and has never looked back.

Erebus moved from Queensland to Melbourne, and over the next season solid foundations were laid. The team recruited, not in quantity, but quality, until it was capable of going toe-to-toe with the biggest names in racing.

2017 saw the team work harder than ever and with rapid and successful car development, the second half of the season cleared Erebus of their “underdog” label before conquering the Bathurst 1000 and becoming the second team in history to win both the Bathurst 12 Hour and Bathurst 1000.

Erebus scored three more wins, five pole positions and multiple podiums on their way to securing fourth in the 2018 Team’s Championship and David Reynolds fifth in the Driver’s points – a best ever for the squad!

In 2019 – its fifth season, Erebus reincarnated as Penrite Racing.  David Reynolds finished with seven podiums and signed a 10 year deal with the team, the biggest signing in Supercars history. Anton De Pasquale, in his second year in the main game, secured two podiums and jumped up 14 places from 2018, finishing six places up from his rookie season. The team finished sixth in the Team Championship.
