WET + WILD - MONSOONAL RAIN SEES COURAGE IN FINAL RACE

Monsoonal rain has seen Races 2 and 3 start behind the safety car and ended with a string of non finishers on Day 3 of the Toyota Gazoo Racing Australia 86 championship round at Sydney Motorsport Park.

In treacherous conditions, All 4 Mechanical Erebus Academy driver Bailey Sweeny moved up 7 spots to finish Race 3 in 16th.

Earlier in Race 2, sitting in 4th and battling hardened veteran Warren Luff for 3rd, Sweeny lost traction on turn 4, with the spin dropping him down the order on the starting grid for the final race of the day.

Yesterday, Sweeny had raced his Number 33 Toyota to fourth, meaning a start from row 2.

The series now heads to Australia’s most iconic race track - Mount Panorama at Bathurst - where the TGRA86 field will again be on the same bill as the Repco Supercars championship.

This year's Repco Bathurst 1000 will run over six days between 30 November to 5 December - at Mount Panorama - as the final event of the 2021 Repco Supercars Championship.

All races and qualifying will be shown live on TV on Foxtel across the whole weekend.

After a massively encouraging run of form, with double podiums and battling seasoned V8 supercar household name drivers, Sweeny can have high hopes going into the Bathurst grand finale.
