SWEENY DOMINATES IN CANBERRA TO TAKE FINAL WIN OF THE SEASON

Erebus Academy driver Bailey Sweeny has dominated the Watts Communications Canberra Cup karting titles at the Circuit Mark Webber in the Senior Performance Class - coming away with Heat wins, Pre-final win and the overall championship Final win.

The win will see out racing for Sweeny in 2020 before taking on the Toyota Gazoo Racing Australia series in 2021.

Bailey said after the race, ‘it was a solid weekend and it’s been a long and at times frustrating year but its great to get the win at the Mark Webber circuit and to finish the year on a high note’.

The kart ran beautifully and I want to extend a special thanks to Brett Staples from Kartshed and to Jamie Rush and all the team from Rush Performance for all their work throughout the year’.

Sweeny added, ‘I simply cannot wait for 2021 ..it is going to be a full on year of racing.

It was a highlight to complete my first race at Bathurst this year and we have some very exciting news coming in early 21.

I am really looking forward to sharing that news with all of our partners and supporters as soon as I am able to but safe to say, we are set for a bumper year next year’,
